Mmm is all I can say when I think about real Italian pizza. When I say real Italian pizza I mean pizza so thin I can eat the whole thing by myself, fresh basil, mozzarella... you get the picture. Jordan and I are on an Italy kick as of late because 1) I can't seem to stop dreaming about it and 2) he finally got to experience my favorite Italian restaurant in Utah: Settebello's in Salt Lake City.
The night before Valentine's Day, Jordan and I decided to go on a date to Salt Lake. He wanted to take me to the Body World exhibit so I could get some exposure to what he gets to experience in school so often and see what he is passionate about. Needless to say my eyes were opened, but definitely in a good way. After the exhibit Jordan wanted to get some dinner, and I happily obliged. I have been telling him about this amazing Italian restaurant in SLC for months and months, and he surprised me and wanted to take me there. For those of you who know me really well, you know that I can never just like things, I LOVE them. So when I try something delicious I become obsessed with it and truly would be happy eating it everyday for at least a month. (That happened not too long ago when I discovered that I like grilled cheese. I had one everyday for lunch for a month and now just thinking about them make me feel a little sick) Little did Jordan know that he would be hooked as much as I am on their authentic Italian pizza! And it doesn't hurt that they make delicious gelato next door...
After this date, Jordan and I set out to find the best Italian pizza dough recipe out there. We came straight home and started researching blogs, Pinterest, basically anything that would give us some clues on how to make true Italian pizza! Our research has shown that we need special flour, 00 flour to be specific, to achieve the correct crust consistency, so what did we do when we find that out? Order some on Amazon of course! We also learned that we need a 900 degree oven so we'll just have to stick to our 500 degree oven and make the most of it. We are anxiously waiting for our delivery so that we can attempt to make our true Italian pizzas! I emphasize the word attempt... Man am I lucky that I have a husband who is passionate about cooking and Italian pizza just like me!
